Fosse Villages Neighbourhood Plan
The Chairman reported that the Plan was now with Blaby District Council awaiting approval at a full Council meeting.
The Chairman advised the meeting that the village green had been registered as a village green.
The meeting discussed the proposed warehouse on B578 . The Chairman was appalled with the situation and he said that Blaby District Council and Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council need to make the point that allowing the DPD Distribution Centre to be built together with various housing developments at the Burbage end of the road too has caused a massive deterioration in the road surface and needed to ensure that the road is in a roadworthy condition to take the extra vehicle movements. The road is badly potholed and local residents just have to suffer.
A resident reported that there were possible environmental issues due to water being sprayed onto the road to keep the dust down.
Garden Village Whetstone Pastures
The Chairman requested information on the planned Garden Village development and how if would affect Wigston Parva.
The Democratic Services Officer spoke to Cllr Maggie Wright who confirmed that the Garden Village development could be at least 30 years away and that it shouldn’t have any affect on Wigston Parva.
Rail Freight Terminal
The Chairman and the residents discussed the proposed Rail Freight Terminal, the Chairman and most of the residents had received a letter together with a survey questionnaire from the local MP Alberto De Costa who opposed the development.
The Chairman advised the residents to complete the survey and said that he would help them should they require assistance.
Brett enquired if there would be a grant available to restore the Village Pump, the advise given was to contact Zoe Coulson the Funding and Grants Officer at Blaby District Council.
The residents discussed the possibility of a defibrillator being installed in the village and decided that this would be looked into in respect of costs and where it could be sited.
Date of next meeting
The date of the next meeting to be arranged in consultation with the Chairman for a date in May 2020.
