Election of Chairman

Minutes:

The Clerk invited nominations for the election of Chairman of the Wigston Parva Parish Meeting.

Matters arising from the Minutes

Minutes:

Surface Water

 

At the last meeting residents reported that there had been a problem with surface water running onto the highway, residents confirmed that this problem had now been resolved.

 

Hovercraft – The Shades, Coventry Road, Sapcote

 

Residents were still very concerned about the noise generated on the days when the Hovercrafts were in use. Cllr E White confirmed that planning permission had been granted for a year in respect of corporate and hovercraft events (maximum 4 craft and 18 participants)

 

Residents and Cllrs took part in the discussion.

 

Cllr White confirmed that he would look into this matter again.

Any Other Business

Minutes:

Grants

 

Cllr S Scott advised the meeting that £20,000 had been allocated to spend on projects for villages which could be for new benches, notice boards, dog bins etc.

 

Residents agreed that a flower trough for the village would be appropriate.

 

Cllr Scott confirmed that she would contact Liz Oakes in respect of this request.

 

Information

 

Cllrs Ian Hewson, Sheila Scott and Ernie White contributed to the meeting and provided information on the following;-

 

·        Small increase in Council Tax

·        The Council’s Website had been voted one of the best in the country

·        The Outstanding Achievements Awards would be hel in October

·        Place to Grow Enderby

·        Dementia friendly Council

·        Older Persons Forum meet at Blaby Council Offices

·        Pavilion Huncote

·        Blaby Council’s Website had a number of events listed

·        Leicestershire County Council – reduction in spending
