Election of Chairman


The Clerk invited nominations for the election of Chairman for the Aston Flamville Parish Meeting.

The minutes of the meeting held on  26 October 2016 ,as circulated, were approved  as a correct record.


Matters arising from the Minutes


Fosse Villages Neighbourhood Plan


The Chairman reported that 22 responses had been received from Aston Flamville/Aston Firs residents to the questionnaire/survey on FVNP.


90% of the respondents rated “road traffic speed and congestion” within their 3 top priorities.


The Chairman read through the questionnaire and gave the percentages under the various headings.


Copies of the documents were made available at the meeting.


St Peter’s Pathway


The Chairman was pleased to announce that Planning Permission and approval from the Diocese had been granted.


Blaby District Council Community Grants awarded £2,000 towards the new pathway, and following successful fundraising efforts, plans are in place to re-lay the path in June 2017.






Traffic Speed


The Chairman introduced Mike Shirley a member of the Sharnford Traffic Action Group.


Mike Shirley gave a brief outline of what the Action Group did and what they had  achieved  over the past years and he also distributed data at the meeting.


He informed the residents that a meeting of the Action Group was held once a month and that the next meeting was to be held on 26 June 2017 in Sharnford.


Residents and Councillors  discussed the matter of speeding traffic through Aston Flamville and talked about some of the deterrents that could be put into place to slow the traffic down.


Two residents volunteered to be involved in the Action Group and attend the meetings.



Any Other Business


Residents reported that there had been a number of Fly – Tipping incidents within the parish and this was discussed by the residents  and Councillors.


County Councillor Ernie White spoke about the budget cuts at Leicestershire County Council and the way government money was distributed, he also explained the grant formula.

That the date of the next Parish Meeting to be arranged in consultation with the Chairman for a date in October.
