Election of Chairman


The Clerk to the meeting invited nominations for the election of Chairman to the Aston Flamville Parish Meeting.

The minutes of the meeting held on 30 October 2013 ,as circulated, were approved as a correct record.


Matters arising from the Minutes


Site adjacent to the Manor House


The Chairman reported that there had been no further action in respect of any future development at the Manor House.


Any Other Business


Parish Precept


The Chairman confirmed that there had been a nil return as Aston Flamville did not have any services.


Planning Matters


The Chairman reported on Planning Applications received within Aston Flamville.


Fosse Villages Neighbourhood Plan – Steering Group


The Chairman advised the meeting that he had worked with Sapcote in respect of the Fosse Villages Plan, and he said that Aston Flamville was so small that there was no development requirements.


Cllr E White contributed to this item and he said the plan was designed for the larger villages which would allow a lot more people to have a say in housing needs.


Midlands Rural Housing


The Chairman reported that he had received a Housing Needs Survey for villages, the Chairman said that he would respond to the survey and report that there was not a housing need  in Aston Flamville.


Highways Information


The Chairman had received information on road closures and motorway bridge repairs.


A 30mph sign had been painted on the road in the village and also white lines together with kerb replacements.


Trees had also been felled and that  the work  had been done efficiently.


Other Organisations


The Chairman reported that he had received information from the Playing Fields Association but there was a fee involved for being a member.


Also he had received information in respect of the Rural Communities Council.


Contact Magazine


The Chairman said that he had found that the Contact Magazine produced by Blaby District Council was very useful.


Superfast Broadband Leicestershire


The Chairman reported that only part of Aston Flamville would receive Superfast Broadband and he said that the map showing the areas involved was very vague.



Cllr E White


Cllr White updated the meeting on the current budget cuts at Leicestershire County Council.


He reported that Public Health had been ring fenced so there had been no reductions.

 He said that  Adult Social Care and the NHS were working closely together for the frail and elderly.


Cllr I Hewson


Cllr I Hewson spoke about the Blaby District Council Development Control Committee and the Planning Department in respect of recent changes.

The date of the next Parish Meeting to be arranged in consultation with the Chairman for a date in October 2014.
