Chairman's Announcements

Minutes:

The Chairman announced that he will be hosting his Chairman’s at Home on 17th September 2021 and kindly asked Members to pencil the date in their diaries.

24.

Leader's Statement

The Leader, Cllr Terry Richardson will provide an update at the meeting.

Minutes:

The Leader advised Members that the ongoing issue surrounding the funding of the Southern Section Relief Road in Melton is being discussed by district leaders and that six of those leaders have collectively sent a letter to Councillor Nicholas Rushton, Leader of Leicestershire County Council to share their concerns regarding this issue.

 

The Leader congratulated Cllr. Sharon Coe, Health, Wellbeing, Community Engagement & Business Support Portfolio Holder and all officers involved in the restoration and reopening of the ice house in Bouskell Park, Blaby.

 

The Leader highlighted the success of the recently opened Everards Brewery & Beer Hall which has created 120 jobs in the district as well as encouraging tourism into the area.

Considered – Report of the Strategic Finance Manager, presented by Cllr. Maggie Wright, Finance, People & Performance Portfolio Holder , Deputy Leader.

 

Cllr. Mat Mortel arrived at the meeting during the consideration of this report.

 

On behalf of the Liberal Democrat Group, Cllr. Paul Hartshorn asked that it be noted that the Group would support the recommendations , however opposed section 4.1 of the report which related to The Grange, Narborough (to be known as The Old Bank Apartments), due to the costs involved in the development to date.
